TGIS-Thank Goodness it's Saturday!

It's the weekend! The end of the crazy, stressful week is finally here! Saturday and Sunday are your days to relax and catch up on some YOU time! Right? Kind of. While the weekend should be spent making sure that you catch up on your Zzz's, it is also important to remember that the weekend should also be valuable time to spend with your significant other and to also catch up on your time with them. I first want to say that this doesn't have to be anything too fancy, it could just entail both of you relaxing together or taking a glorious (I don't remember what day it is when you wake up) kind of nap on the couch in the middle of the day. As long as you are involving your significant other in your plans for the weekend, you two are going to make the most of it. Don't get me wrong, I also enjoy a girls night out every once in awhile without Ricky but I do believe that making time for them during the weekend when we have that time to spend with them is beneficial to you both. If you are reading this and are wanting some inexpensive yet fun plans for this weekend with your significant other, I may have some ideas for you. Presenting....

THE RELAXATION PACKAGE:
(Complete with all of your relaxation needs! Starting with...)

  • Massages (take turns giving each other a calming, peaceful massage. Try using Lavender Essential Oil to enhance and promote relaxation.)
  • Cook up some comfort food in your pajamas (Cook your favorite comfort food meal and enjoy eating it in your most comfortable pajamas.)
  • Take a hot bubble bath together (I know a lot of us do not particularly enjoy sharing the tub when it comes to our bubble baths but this is a great relaxing date idea! Get two glasses of wine ready and let those bath salts and bubbles do it's work.)
  • Pizza, Wine, and Netflix (I honestly do not know a better threesome than eating pizza and sipping wine while watching a great movie together.)
  • Wine Talk (This is a date that Ricky and I try to have at least once a month. Not only does the wine help us open up and get into some deep conversations but it it's also a fun way to get to know your significant other even better. Dim the lights, turn on some soft music and let the wine do the rest.)
  • Grab a Blanket and Star Gaze (There is something about looking up at the stars that brings me so much hope. In my opinion, it is so relaxing and comforting to lay down and look up at the night sky. Try this with your significant other and see what conversations this will start.)

THE ADVENTUROUS PACKAGE:
(Complete with all of your adventurous needs! Starting with...)

  • Take a stroll in a park (Ricky and I do this almost every weekend, not just to give our dog some exercise but to enjoy the beautiful weather.)
  • Go Store Hopping (We sometimes like to just go to stores around where we live and look around and talk about the things we want and need for our future house. Plus, it's just a simple way to get out of the house for a bit.)
  • Pick a Gift (This is a fun little date to do with your significant other. Go to your nearest Dollar Tree or Dollar Store and you each pick three gifts for one another and they can be random, sentimental or just awesome (it's up to you). Then exchange gifts and see what they get for you!
  • Create a Treasure Hunt (Make your very own treasure hunt and draw a map for your significant other to follow, leading to the ultimate treasure!) It can be as easy or as challenging as you want it to be. When I did this for Ricky, I made a treasure map leading to a nerf gun filled with marshmallows. We had a great, big marshmallow fight at the end and it was a blast!

These are just a few of many fun ideas that you can use to make a fantastic yet relaxing weekend for you and your significant other. Enjoy and have fun!
Have a wonderful weekend!

Stay happy and beautiful! :)
